Description
A juicy, tender, buttery viral-style steak cooked with simple seasoning, garlic, and herbs for maximum flavor and perfect sear.
Ingredients
- 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (1–1.5 inches thick)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 3 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, smashed
- 3–4 sprigs fresh thyme or rosemary
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Pat steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Heat olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
- Sear steaks for 3–4 minutes per side, depending on thickness and desired doneness.
- Add butter, garlic, and herbs to the pan. Let the butter melt and baste the steaks repeatedly for 1–2 minutes.
- Optional: drizzle Worcestershire sauce over the steaks for extra flavor.
- Remove steaks from the pan and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, or rice.
Notes
- For medium-rare, cook to an internal temperature of 130–135°F.
- Letting the steaks come to room temperature helps them cook evenly.
- Use clarified butter for a higher smoke point.
