Description

Ingredients

  • 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (11.5 inches thick)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 34 sprigs fresh thyme or rosemary
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)


Instructions

  1. Pat steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Heat olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  3. Sear steaks for 3–4 minutes per side, depending on thickness and desired doneness.
  4. Add butter, garlic, and herbs to the pan. Let the butter melt and baste the steaks repeatedly for 1–2 minutes.
  5. Optional: drizzle Worcestershire sauce over the steaks for extra flavor.
  6. Remove steaks from the pan and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  7. Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, or rice.

  • For medium-rare, cook to an internal temperature of 130–135°F.
  • Letting the steaks come to room temperature helps them cook evenly.
