Description

Soft, fluffy cinnamon rolls filled with rich cocoa, layered with chocolate chips, and topped with a creamy chocolate glaze for the ultimate triple chocolate indulgence.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder (for glaze)
  • 23 tbsp milk (for glaze)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. Add warm milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead dough for 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
  4. Roll dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter over the surface.
  5. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle evenly over buttered dough.
  6. Scatter semi-sweet, white, and dark chocolate chips over the cinnamon sugar layer.
  7. Tightly roll up dough into a log and cut into 12 equal rolls.
  8. Place rolls into a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise again for 30–40 minutes.
  9. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  10. For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.

Notes

  • For extra richness, drizzle with melted white or dark chocolate after glazing.
  • These rolls can be prepared ahead and refrigerated overnight before baking.
  • Best enjoyed warm for a gooey chocolate center.
