Soft, fluffy cinnamon rolls filled with rich cocoa, layered with chocolate chips, and topped with a creamy chocolate glaze for the ultimate triple chocolate indulgence.
Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp cocoa powder (for glaze)
- 2–3 tbsp milk (for glaze)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- Add warm milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead dough for 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
- Roll dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter over the surface.
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle evenly over buttered dough.
- Scatter semi-sweet, white, and dark chocolate chips over the cinnamon sugar layer.
- Tightly roll up dough into a log and cut into 12 equal rolls.
- Place rolls into a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise again for 30–40 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
Notes
- For extra richness, drizzle with melted white or dark chocolate after glazing.
- These rolls can be prepared ahead and refrigerated overnight before baking.
- Best enjoyed warm for a gooey chocolate center.
