Ingredients
- 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, diced
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, finely chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup balsamic glaze (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush lightly with olive oil.
- Toast the bread in the oven for 5–7 minutes, until golden and crisp. Remove and let cool slightly.
- In a bowl, combine diced strawberries, honey, balsamic vinegar, basil, salt, and pepper. Toss gently to mix and let sit for 5 minutes to marinate.
- Spoon the strawberry mixture onto each toasted baguette slice.
- Drizzle with balsamic glaze and garnish with extra basil leaves if desired.
