Description
A tender, pan-seared steak served with a luxurious garlic cream sauce that is rich, savory, and perfect for a comforting yet elegant meal.
Ingredients
- 2 beef steaks (ribeye or sirloin, about 200 g each)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp dried thyme or fresh thyme leaves
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Pat the steaks dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steaks and sear for 3–4 minutes per side, or until cooked to desired doneness. Remove steaks from the pan and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium and add butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the beef broth, scraping the bottom of the pan to deglaze and incorporate the browned bits.
- Add heavy cream and thyme, stirring well. Let the sauce simmer for 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Return the steaks to the skillet and spoon the garlic cream sauce over them. Simmer for 1–2 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve hot.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer for precise doneness.
- You can substitute chicken broth for beef broth if needed.
- Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
