Description

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 2 packets (0.87 oz each) chicken gravy mix
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts into the bottom of a greased slow cooker.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together chicken gravy mix, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and thyme.
  3. Pour mixture over chicken, ensuring it is well coated.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until chicken is tender.
  5. Remove chicken and shred with two forks. Return shredded chicken to the slow cooker.
  6. Stir in sour cream until gravy is creamy and smooth.
  7. Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or biscuits. Garnish with parsley if desired.
