Description
A creative twist on grilled cheese that uses crispy ramen noodle buns instead of bread, filled with melted cheese and crispy bacon for a crunchy, savory treat.
Ingredients
- 2 packs ramen noodles (discard seasoning packets)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 4 slices cooked bacon
- 4 slices cheddar or American cheese
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
Instructions
- Cook ramen noodles according to package directions, then drain and let cool slightly.
- In a bowl, toss noodles with beaten eggs, salt, and pepper.
- Divide noodles into 4 portions and press each into a greased round mold (or ramekin). Chill in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to set.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat with a little butter. Cook noodle buns for 3-4 minutes per side until golden and crisp.
- Assemble grilled cheese: Place one noodle bun in the skillet, top with cheese, bacon, and another noodle bun.
- Cook until cheese is melted and the outside is crispy, flipping carefully halfway through.
- Repeat with remaining buns and serve warm.
Notes
- Use a cast-iron skillet for extra crispiness.
- You can mix in Parmesan with the noodles before frying for added flavor.
- Best eaten immediately for the crispiest texture.
