Description

A creative twist on grilled cheese that uses crispy ramen noodle buns instead of bread, filled with melted cheese and crispy bacon for a crunchy, savory treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 packs ramen noodles (discard seasoning packets)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 slices cooked bacon
  • 4 slices cheddar or American cheese
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter


Instructions

  1. Cook ramen noodles according to package directions, then drain and let cool slightly.
  2. In a bowl, toss noodles with beaten eggs, salt, and pepper.
  3. Divide noodles into 4 portions and press each into a greased round mold (or ramekin). Chill in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to set.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat with a little butter. Cook noodle buns for 3-4 minutes per side until golden and crisp.
  5. Assemble grilled cheese: Place one noodle bun in the skillet, top with cheese, bacon, and another noodle bun.
  6. Cook until cheese is melted and the outside is crispy, flipping carefully halfway through.
  7. Repeat with remaining buns and serve warm.
