Description

These Pineapple Teriyaki Little Smokies are a crowd-pleasing appetizer featuring cocktail sausages simmered in a sweet and tangy pineapple-teriyaki glaze. They’re incredibly easy to make and perfect for game day, parties, or quick weeknight snacks!

Ingredients

  • 1 (14 oz) package little smokies sausages
  • 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1/2 cup crushed pineapple (with juice)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 1 tbsp water (for cornstarch slurry)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan or skillet, combine teriyaki sauce, crushed pineapple, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Stir well and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  2. Add the little smokies to the pan and stir to coat them in the sauce.
  3. Simmer uncovered for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the smokies are heated through and the sauce thickens slightly.
  4. If you prefer a thicker glaze, whisk together cornstarch and water, then stir into the sauce and cook for another 2–3 minutes until thickened.
  5. Transfer to a serving bowl or slow cooker set on warm.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For a slow cooker version: Combine all ingredients in the crockpot and cook on LOW for 2–3 hours or HIGH for 1 hour.
  • Add a dash of sriracha or chili flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Great served with toothpicks for parties or over steamed rice for a quick meal.
  • Use turkey or beef smokies depending on your preference.
