Description
Peanut Butter Blossoms are classic soft and chewy peanut butter cookies rolled in sugar and topped with a chocolate kiss, making them a favorite holiday and everyday treat.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
- 24 chocolate kiss candies, unwrapped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in peanut butter, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until combined.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and roll each ball in granulated sugar.
- Place balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes until lightly golden.
- Immediately press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- Do not overbake; cookies should be soft.
- Press chocolate kisses gently to avoid cracking.
- Cookies firm up as they cool.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
