Description

Crispy oven-fried potatoes and onions seasoned simply and baked until golden, making an easy and comforting side dish for any meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme or rosemary (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Lightly grease a large baking dish or sheet pan.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the sliced potatoes and onions.
  4. Add olive oil, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and herbs if using. Toss until evenly coated.
  5. Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  6. Cover loosely with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  7. Remove foil, stir gently, and return to the oven.
  8. Bake uncovered for another 20–25 minutes, stirring once, until potatoes are tender and golden brown.
  9. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, use a metal baking pan.
  • You can add bell peppers or mushrooms for variation.
