Description

A simple and comforting one-pan garlic butter Parmesan pasta made with tender noodles tossed in a rich, buttery garlic sauce and finished with Parmesan cheese for the perfect weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz spaghetti or fettuccine pasta
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional, for extra creaminess)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet or sauté pan, melt butter and olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  3. Pour in chicken broth, milk, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Stir to combine.
  4. Add the uncooked pasta, ensuring it’s submerged in the liquid. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low.
  5. Simmer uncovered for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
  6. Stir in Parmesan cheese and heavy cream (if using) until smooth and creamy.
  7. Adjust seasoning to taste and cook another 1–2 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
  8. Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best flavor and smooth texture.
  • For a protein boost, add cooked chicken, shrimp, or crispy bacon.
  • Substitute vegetable broth for a vegetarian version.
  • Reheat leftovers gently with a splash of milk to restore creaminess.
