Description
A simple and comforting one-pan garlic butter Parmesan pasta made with tender noodles tossed in a rich, buttery garlic sauce and finished with Parmesan cheese for the perfect weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 12 oz spaghetti or fettuccine pasta
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional, for extra creaminess)
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet or sauté pan, melt butter and olive oil over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Pour in chicken broth, milk, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Stir to combine.
- Add the uncooked pasta, ensuring it’s submerged in the liquid. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low.
- Simmer uncovered for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese and heavy cream (if using) until smooth and creamy.
- Adjust seasoning to taste and cook another 1–2 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
- Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve warm.
Notes
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best flavor and smooth texture.
- For a protein boost, add cooked chicken, shrimp, or crispy bacon.
- Substitute vegetable broth for a vegetarian version.
- Reheat leftovers gently with a splash of milk to restore creaminess.
