Description

Mozzarella Cheesesteak Stromboli is a hearty baked roll filled with tender seasoned steak, melted mozzarella cheese, and sautéed vegetables, wrapped in golden pizza dough.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb pizza dough
  • 12 oz thinly sliced beef steak
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add steak and cook until just browned.
  4. Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic; sauté until softened.
  5. Season with salt, black pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Remove from heat.
  6. Roll out pizza dough into a large rectangle.
  7. Spread steak mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a border.
  8. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  9. Roll the dough tightly into a log and place seam-side down on the baking sheet.
  10. Brush with beaten egg.
  11. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  12. Cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use provolone in addition to mozzarella for extra flavor.
  • Let stromboli rest 5 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve with marinara or garlic sauce for dipping.
