Description
Mozzarella Cheesesteak Stromboli is a hearty baked roll filled with tender seasoned steak, melted mozzarella cheese, and sautéed vegetables, wrapped in golden pizza dough.
Ingredients
- 1 lb pizza dough
- 12 oz thinly sliced beef steak
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add steak and cook until just browned.
- Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic; sauté until softened.
- Season with salt, black pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Remove from heat.
- Roll out pizza dough into a large rectangle.
- Spread steak mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a border.
- Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and place seam-side down on the baking sheet.
- Brush with beaten egg.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
- Use provolone in addition to mozzarella for extra flavor.
- Let stromboli rest 5 minutes before slicing.
- Serve with marinara or garlic sauce for dipping.
