Description

Crispy fries loaded with seasoned beef, sautéed peppers and onions, and melted cheese, inspired by the classic Philly cheesesteak sandwich.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) frozen French fries
  • 1 lb (450 g) beef sirloin or ribeye, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese
  • 1/2 cup cheese sauce or melted cheddar (optional)
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the French fries according to package instructions until golden and crispy.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the sliced beef, season with salt, pepper, and paprika, and cook for 3–4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add onions and bell peppers and sauté for 4–5 minutes until softened.
  5. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Return the beef to the skillet and toss to combine with the vegetables.
  7. Spread cooked fries on a serving platter or baking tray.
  8. Top fries with the beef and vegetable mixture.
  9. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top and drizzle with cheese sauce if using.
  10. Place under a broiler for 2–3 minutes until cheese is melted.
  11. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use waffle fries or steak fries for extra crunch.
