Description
Crispy fries loaded with seasoned beef, sautéed peppers and onions, and melted cheese, inspired by the classic Philly cheesesteak sandwich.
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) frozen French fries
- 1 lb (450 g) beef sirloin or ribeye, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese
- 1/2 cup cheese sauce or melted cheddar (optional)
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the French fries according to package instructions until golden and crispy.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced beef, season with salt, pepper, and paprika, and cook for 3–4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add onions and bell peppers and sauté for 4–5 minutes until softened.
- Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Return the beef to the skillet and toss to combine with the vegetables.
- Spread cooked fries on a serving platter or baking tray.
- Top fries with the beef and vegetable mixture.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top and drizzle with cheese sauce if using.
- Place under a broiler for 2–3 minutes until cheese is melted.
- Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- Use waffle fries or steak fries for extra crunch.
- You can substitute beef with chicken for a lighter option.
- Serve immediately for best texture.
