Description

Crispy egg rolls filled with a creamy, cheesy jalapeño popper mixture, combining spicy jalapeños, cream cheese, and melted cheddar for a bold appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

  • 8 egg roll wrappers
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 34 jalapeños, seeded and finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp green onions, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Oil for frying
  • 2 tbsp water (for sealing wrappers)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, chopped jalapeños, green onions, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth.
  2. Lay an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface with one corner facing you.
  3. Place about 2 tablespoons of the filling in the center of the wrapper.
  4. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, fold in the sides, and roll tightly. Seal the top corner with a little water.
  5. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
  6. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Fry egg rolls in batches for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Adjust jalapeño quantity to control spice level.
  • These can also be air-fried at 380°F for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway.
