Description

Heaven in a Bowl is a luscious layered dessert that lives up to its name — combining rich brownies, creamy chocolate pudding, fluffy whipped topping, and crushed toffee bits for an indulgent, crowd-pleasing treat perfect for parties or holidays.

Ingredients

  • 1 box brownie mix (plus ingredients listed on the package)
  • 2 packages (3.9 oz each) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold milk
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup crushed Heath or toffee bits
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce (optional for drizzle)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the brownies according to package directions in a 9×13-inch pan. Allow them to cool completely, then cut into small bite-sized cubes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together pudding mixes and milk until smooth and thickened, about 2 minutes. Stir in the sour cream and fold in half of the whipped topping until well combined.
  3. In a large trifle bowl or glass dish, layer half of the brownie cubes on the bottom.
  4. Spoon half of the pudding mixture over the brownies and spread evenly.
  5. Sprinkle with half of the toffee bits and a drizzle of caramel sauce, if desired.
  6. Repeat layers with remaining brownies, pudding mixture, whipped topping, and toffee bits.
  7. Top with mini chocolate chips and an extra drizzle of caramel for garnish.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to let flavors blend and dessert set.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, use low-fat milk, light whipped topping, and reduced-fat sour cream.
  • You can substitute chocolate cake for brownies or add crushed Oreos for texture.
  • Best made a day ahead — it tastes even better after chilling overnight.
