Description
Tender beef chops cooked in a rich garlic-Parmesan sauce and served alongside creamy, cheesy scalloped potatoes for a hearty, comforting meal.
Ingredients
- 4 beef chops (bone-in or boneless)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 lbs potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish for the scalloped potatoes.
- Layer sliced potatoes and onions in the dish. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
- In a saucepan, heat heavy cream, butter, and half the Parmesan until melted. Pour over potatoes.
- Top with mozzarella and cheddar. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
- Season beef chops with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chops 2–3 minutes per side.
- Add garlic, Italian seasoning, beef broth, and remaining Parmesan. Simmer 10 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Remove foil from potatoes and bake uncovered for 10–15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Serve beef chops topped with garlic-Parmesan sauce alongside cheesy scalloped potatoes.
Notes
- Use a mandoline for evenly sliced potatoes.
- Substitute chicken broth for a lighter sauce.
- Add fresh parsley or chives for garnish.
- Can be made with pork chops instead of beef.
