Description

Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta is a quick, flavorful, and comforting dish featuring juicy shrimp tossed with al dente pasta in a rich garlic butter sauce. It’s a restaurant-quality meal that comes together in under 30 minutes — perfect for busy weeknights or date night dinners.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz spaghetti or linguine
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta in salted boiling water according to package directions until al dente. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  2. Season shrimp with salt and pepper.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 2 tbsp butter over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, melt remaining butter. Add garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in white wine (or chicken broth) and simmer for 2–3 minutes, scraping up any browned bits.
  6. Reduce heat to low, add cooked pasta and toss to coat in the garlic butter sauce. Add reserved pasta water as needed for desired consistency.
  7. Return shrimp to the skillet, squeeze in lemon juice, and toss everything together.
  8. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For extra richness, add a splash of heavy cream to the sauce.
  • Substitute zucchini noodles for a low-carb version.
  • Use fresh lemon zest for a brighter, more vibrant flavor.
