Description

A flavorful and comforting garlic shrimp pasta tossed in a rich butter sauce with tender shrimp, aromatic garlic, and perfectly cooked pasta. This quick and easy dish is perfect for weeknight dinners yet elegant enough for special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz spaghetti or linguine
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.
  2. Season shrimp with salt and black pepper.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter with olive oil.
  4. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Add shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  6. Pour chicken broth and lemon juice into the skillet, simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  7. Return shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
  8. Add cooked pasta and a splash of reserved pasta water as needed. Toss until well combined.
  9. Stir in parsley and Parmesan cheese. Adjust seasoning if needed.
  10. Serve immediately with extra Parmesan on top.

Notes

  • Use fresh shrimp for best flavor and texture.
  • Do not overcook shrimp to keep them tender.
  • Substitute white wine for chicken broth for added depth.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
