Garlic Butter Baked Scallops are tender sea scallops baked in a rich garlic butter sauce with herbs and a light breadcrumb topping, making an elegant yet easy seafood dish.
Ingredients
- 1 lb sea scallops
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp paprika
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Pat the scallops dry and arrange them in a lightly greased baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix melted butter, garlic, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Pour the garlic butter mixture evenly over the scallops.
- In another bowl, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and parsley.
- Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the scallops.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until scallops are opaque and topping is lightly golden.
- Serve hot with extra lemon wedges if desired.
Notes
- Do not overbake scallops to keep them tender.
- Use fresh scallops for best flavor, but thawed frozen scallops work well.
- Serve with crusty bread or over pasta.
