Description
Decadent coffee truffles are rich, bite-sized chocolate treats infused with bold coffee flavor, coated in cocoa powder or chocolate for an elegant dessert or gift.
Ingredients
- 8 oz dark chocolate, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tsp instant coffee granules
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder, for coating
- 1/4 cup melted dark chocolate, for coating (optional)
Instructions
- Place chopped dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
- In a small saucepan, heat heavy cream over medium heat until just beginning to simmer.
- Stir in instant coffee granules until fully dissolved.
- Pour the hot cream mixture over the chocolate and let sit for 2 minutes.
- Add butter and vanilla extract, then stir until smooth and glossy.
- Cover and refrigerate for 1–2 hours until firm enough to scoop.
- Scoop small portions and roll into balls using your hands.
- Roll truffles in cocoa powder or dip in melted chocolate, if desired.
- Chill for 15 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use espresso powder for a stronger coffee flavor.
- Keep hands lightly dusted with cocoa powder to prevent sticking.
- Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
