Description

Crispy Hashbrown and Sausage Bites are golden, bite-sized snacks made with shredded hashbrowns, savory sausage, and melted cheese, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or party appetizers.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups frozen hashbrowns, thawed and squeezed dry
  • 300 g sausage (chicken or turkey), cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp green onions, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Oil for frying or greasing


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) or heat oil for frying.
  2. In a large bowl, combine hashbrowns, cooked sausage, cheddar cheese, flour, egg, garlic, green onions, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Mix until well combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into small bite-sized balls or patties.
  5. If baking, place bites on a greased baking tray and lightly brush with oil.
  6. Bake for 18–22 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and crispy.
  7. If frying, fry in batches over medium heat until crispy and browned.
  8. Drain on paper towels if fried.
  9. Serve hot with dipping sauce.

  • Ensure hashbrowns are well dried to achieve crispiness.
  • Can be air-fried for a lighter option.
