Crispy Hashbrown and Sausage Bites are golden, bite-sized snacks made with shredded hashbrowns, savory sausage, and melted cheese, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or party appetizers.
Ingredients
- 3 cups frozen hashbrowns, thawed and squeezed dry
- 300 g sausage (chicken or turkey), cooked and crumbled
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp green onions, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Oil for frying or greasing
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) or heat oil for frying.
- In a large bowl, combine hashbrowns, cooked sausage, cheddar cheese, flour, egg, garlic, green onions, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into small bite-sized balls or patties.
- If baking, place bites on a greased baking tray and lightly brush with oil.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and crispy.
- If frying, fry in batches over medium heat until crispy and browned.
- Drain on paper towels if fried.
- Serve hot with dipping sauce.
Notes
- Ensure hashbrowns are well dried to achieve crispiness.
- Can be air-fried for a lighter option.
- Serve with ketchup, ranch, or spicy mayo.
