Description
A rich and comforting pasta dish made with tender shrimp sautéed in garlic butter and tossed in a creamy Parmesan sauce, perfect for a quick yet elegant meal.
Ingredients
- 12 oz (340 g) pasta (fettuccine or linguine)
- 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and drain.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp and set aside.
- Lower heat and pour heavy cream into the skillet, stirring gently.
- Add Parmesan cheese and stir until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Add cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat. Use reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
- Return shrimp to the skillet and sprinkle with red pepper flakes if using.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for best flavor and texture.
- You can substitute shrimp with chicken or scallops.
- Add spinach or mushrooms for extra vegetables.
