Description

A rich and comforting pasta dish made with tender shrimp sautéed in garlic butter and tossed in a creamy Parmesan sauce, perfect for a quick yet elegant meal.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz (340 g) pasta (fettuccine or linguine)
  • 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and drain.
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  5. Lower heat and pour heavy cream into the skillet, stirring gently.
  6. Add Parmesan cheese and stir until the sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Add cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat. Use reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
  8. Return shrimp to the skillet and sprinkle with red pepper flakes if using.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for best flavor and texture.
  • You can substitute shrimp with chicken or scallops.
  • Add spinach or mushrooms for extra vegetables.
