Description
A warm and satisfying sandwich layered with juicy chicken, creamy avocado, melted cheese, and toasted bread, perfect for lunch or a quick dinner.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked chicken breast, sliced or shredded
- 1 ripe avocado, sliced
- 4 slices bread (sourdough or whole wheat)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
Instructions
- Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium heat.
- Lightly spread mayonnaise on one side of each bread slice.
- Layer chicken evenly over the unspread side of two bread slices.
- Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Add avocado slices and sprinkle cheese on top.
- Top with remaining bread slices, mayonnaise side facing out.
- Brush the outside lightly with olive oil or butter.
- Cook the sandwiches for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from heat, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
- Use grilled or rotisserie chicken for extra flavor.
- Add tomato or bacon for variation.
- Press gently with a spatula while cooking for even melting.
