Description

Tender and flavorful barbecue ribs cooked low and slow in the slow cooker, finished with a smoky BBQ sauce for a fall-off-the-bone meal.

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs pork ribs
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (plus extra for serving)
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut ribs into manageable sections that fit into the slow cooker.
  2. In a small bowl, mix barbecue sauce, onion, garlic, vinegar, brown sugar, paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place ribs in the slow cooker and pour the sauce mixture over them, coating well.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 6–8 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours until ribs are tender.
  5. Optional: Transfer ribs to a baking sheet, brush with extra BBQ sauce, and broil for 3–5 minutes for a caramelized finish.
  6. Serve hot with additional barbecue sauce on the side.

Notes

  • Use your favorite store-bought or homemade barbecue sauce for best flavor.
  • Broiling at the end enhances the smoky taste and gives a sticky glaze.
  • Ribs can be prepared a day in advance and reheated before serving.
