Description

This Biscuits and Sausage Gravy Breakfast Pizza combines fluffy biscuit dough, creamy sausage gravy, eggs, and cheese into a hearty southern-inspired breakfast dish perfect for weekends or brunch gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1/2 pound breakfast sausage
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for eggs)
  • Chopped green onions or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease a pizza pan or baking sheet.
  3. Press the biscuit dough evenly across the pan to form a crust. Bake for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden.
  4. Meanwhile, cook the breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Do not drain completely; leave about 1 tablespoon of drippings in the pan.
  5. Sprinkle flour over the sausage and stir to coat. Cook for 1 minute.
  6. Gradually add milk while stirring constantly until thickened into a gravy (about 3-5 minutes). Season with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.
  7. In a separate pan, scramble the eggs lightly with butter until just set but still soft.
  8. Spread the sausage gravy evenly over the biscuit crust.
  9. Top with scrambled eggs, mozzarella, and cheddar cheese.
  10. Bake for another 8-10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  11. Garnish with green onions or parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Make the gravy ahead of time to save prep time in the morning.
  • Use store-bought sausage gravy for a quick shortcut.
  • Add crumbled bacon or diced ham for extra flavor.
  • Serve with hot sauce for a spicy twist.
