Description

Moist, fluffy, and full of banana flavor — this is the ultimate banana bread recipe. Made with ripe bananas, a hint of vanilla, and a touch of brown sugar, it’s the perfect balance of sweetness and texture. Ideal for breakfast, snacks, or dessert!

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. Stir in melted butter, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined (do not overmix).
  6. Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips if using.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas — the more brown spots, the better!
  • For extra moisture, add 2 tbsp sour cream or Greek yogurt to the batter.
  • Store tightly wrapped at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
  • This banana bread freezes beautifully for up to 3 months.
