Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- Stir in melted butter, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined (do not overmix).
- Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas — the more brown spots, the better!
- For extra moisture, add 2 tbsp sour cream or Greek yogurt to the batter.
